FAQ
What is Wrought in Heaven Jewelry?
Wrought in Heaven Jewelry is an independent jewelry studio specializing in handcrafted precious metal adornments, including custom-fit precious metal press-on nails and fine jewelry inspired by gothic architecture, celestial symbolism, and timeless craftsmanship.
Where are you located?
Wrought in Heaven Jewelry is proudly designed and handcrafted in Southern California.
Are your pieces handmade?
Yes. Every piece is individually handcrafted with careful attention to detail. Because each item is made by hand, slight variations are part of the unique character of every creation.
Do you practice Recycle & Reuse?
Absolutely! Not only do we recycle our own metals here, but we will also soon have a recycle and renew program for our clients where you may exchange and update nails and styles.
Custom Metal Nails
What are precious metal press-on nails?
Our custom-fit press-on nails are handcrafted from precious metals such as sterling silver and gold. Designed specifically for your hands, they offer the appearance of sculptural fine jewelry in a wearable nail form.
How does the ordering process work?
After placing your order, you’ll receive a custom molding kit. Once your molds are returned and approved, your nails are individually crafted, finished, and shipped to you.
Why do you require molds?
Your molds allow us to create nails that are custom fit to your unique nail shape, providing the best possible comfort, appearance, and fit.
Can I reuse my molds for future orders?
Yes. As long as your nail shape has not changed, your molds may be used for future orders, making reordering faster and easier. I keep all impressions on file for future use.
How long does production take?
Because every piece is handcrafted, production times vary. Current estimated lead times are listed on each product page and begin once all required molds or measurements have been received.
How do the nails adhere to your nails?
The nails come with a nail kit that includes nail glue. You are welcome to use your own favorite brand of nail glue.
How do you remove the nails?
Let the nails soak in 100% acetone for about 10-15 minutes. You'll need to scrape the access nail glue off of the nails when you remove the nails from the acetone. I recommend using a cuticle pusher. I provide one for you in the nail kit if you don't already have one. If you happen to have stubborn nails that are a challenge to remove, I have used dental floss to VERY GENTLY shimmy the nail off.
What if I lose a nail?
You are eligible for a 25% discount off the purchase of a replacement nail. You will need the original order # in order to receive the discount. You must use the promo code REPLACEMENT25 when checking out. We keep the original cast finger on file so there is no need to re-do a mold unless your nail has changed.
May I Change my Order After I Placed It?
This depends on timing and we may not be able to change your requests. Please reach out to us via contact page for questions.
Materials
What metals do you use?
Depending on the collection, we work with sterling silver, gold, bronze, copper and other carefully selected metals. Available materials are listed on each product page.
Will sterling silver tarnish?
Yes. Sterling silver naturally develops a patina over time. Regular cleaning and proper storage will help maintain its original finish.
Orders
Can I cancel my order?
Orders may be canceled within 24 hours of purchase if production has not begun. After that time, custom orders generally cannot be canceled because work may already be underway.
Can I return a custom item?
Because custom pieces are made specifically for each client, they are generally not eligible for return unless there is a verified manufacturing defect or an error on our part.
What if my item arrives damaged?
Please contact us within 14 days of delivery with photographs and your order number. We’ll work with you to determine the most appropriate solution.
Care
How should I care for my jewelry?
Store your jewelry in a dry place, avoid harsh chemicals, and clean it periodically using appropriate polishing materials for the metal.
Can I wear my metal nails every day?
Our nails are designed to be wearable works of art. While they are durable, proper care will help preserve their finish and extend their lifespan.
