Before You Wear

Ensure your natural nails are clean, dry, and free of oils or lotions before application.
Follow the recommended application method for the best fit and longest wear.
Apply only to healthy natural nails.

Daily Wear

Although your metal nails are durable, they are handcrafted works of wearable art.

To help preserve their beauty:

Avoid using your nails as tools to pry, scrape, or open objects.
Wear gloves when cleaning, gardening, or performing heavy-duty work.
Avoid striking the nails against hard surfaces whenever possible.
Remove your nails before activities that may cause excessive impact or bending.

Water & Chemicals

Sterling silver, bronze, copper and gold are all durable metals, but repeated exposure to moisture and chemicals can affect their appearance over time.

For best results:

Remove your nails before swimming, using hot tubs, or spending extended time in water.
Avoid contact with bleach, chlorine, harsh cleaners, perfumes, and other chemicals. (Using acetone to remove the nails is safe).
Apply lotions, oils, sunscreen, and cosmetics before putting on your nails whenever possible.

Tarnish

Some metals naturally develop a patina over time.

Sterling silver may develop a light tarnish.
Bronze and copper naturally darken and develop character with age.
Solid gold does not tarnish but may develop fine surface scratches through normal wear.

These changes are a natural characteristic of precious metals and are not considered defects.

Cleaning

To restore shine:

Wipe your nails with a soft microfiber or jewelry polishing cloth after wearing.
If needed, clean gently with mild soap and warm water, then dry thoroughly.
Use only polishing products appropriate for your specific metal.
Avoid abrasive cleaners or steel wool.

Storage

Store your nails:

In their original storage box.
In a cool, dry location.
Away from humidity and direct sunlight.
Separately from other jewelry to minimize scratching.

Repairs

Accidents happen.

If your nail becomes damaged, bent, or excessively scratched, please contact Wrought in Heaven Jewelry before attempting any repair yourself. Depending on the damage, repair services may be available.
